Vicky Kaushal says Dunki let him die in Shah Rukh Khan’s arms, talks about marriage with Katrina Kaif: ‘Bhaag khul gaye’

 Vicky Kaushal, who plays a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki, says he got the opportunity to get drunk with the superstar and dies in his arms in the same film

Anybody who has shared the screen with Shah Rukh Khan will say that their experience of working with the star was both memorable and full of learning. And it was no different for Vicky Kaushal, who was recently seen doing a cameo in Dunki. In the teaser of the upcoming episode of #NoFilterNeha, sharing his great SRK moment, a grateful Vicky exclaimed, “We did a drunk scene, humne saath mein same nimboo chaat liya aur unki baahoon mein meri maut ho gayi (we licked the same lemon and I die in his arms) woh bhi ek hi film me!” 


Earlier, Uri: The Surgical Attack actor, while speaking on Koffee With Karan, praised Shah Rukh, calling the experience for working “incredible.” ,“It was incredible. I mean, it’s always fantastic experience to just meet him and to share screen with him and then to get to work with him.. There was so much to learn. Of course I knew I will learn a lot as an actor and everything but I was not prepared for… What actually hit me was…I got to know why he is where he is and why he is the Badshaah (sic)” said Vicky who only shot for a few days with the actor.

 The teaser of the vodcast shows the actor indulging a fun banter with host Neha and candidly answering all her questions, who calls him “India ka Chris Hemsworth.” When asked how did he manage to woo Katrina Kaif who he married in 2021, he quipped, “Bhaag Khul gaye (I was lucky!)”

Over the past few years, Vicky’s films Uri: The Surgical Attack, Masaan, Sardar Udham, Sam Bahadur etc have made a huge impact on the actor’s career, establishing him as one of the most promising artistes. Speaking of how Neeraj Ghaywan’s Masaan helped change people’s perception of him, he revealed, “Masaan gave the kind of credibility as an actor. I started getting calls from directors for the first time after the film’s release.” Uri: The Surgical Attack, which became a massive hit, instilled a sense of patriotism in cinemagoers. The actor shared that the makers aimed to inspire young Indian men. “Even if one young guy decided to join the Indian Army, we didn’t care how much money the film earned” he divulged. 


Vicky’s Sardar Udham, which is based on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, earned him a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor, while the title bagged the Nation Film Award for Best Feature Film. The actor, who is proud of portraying the character, added, “Apne poton ko bolunga ki is kahani ka hissa bana tha (I will proudly tell my grandsons that I played Sardar Udham and was part of this film.”
